This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man. Genesis 2:23
Man was created first. There was Adam, and then Eve was made from Adam’s rib. I feel like that’s enough said right there when it comes to pinpointing what a marriage should be. Women, we were created from man! Hence, why Adam named woman that given name. When we are married, we are joined together in union as one. God wants us to be one and never break the bond. It makes perfect sense to me now, but I can tell you with honesty, it did not before. I didn't understand the true meaning of marriage and what it meant to be joined in matrimony with someone. Then again, I didn't have a relationship with God like I do now.
My favorite part of this chapter; the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed, Genesis 2:25. I believe to understand this as they were innocent and childlike. How it seems we all start out when our relationship is new. In the beginning everything is beautiful and paradise like, even giddy like children with our significant other. It's only when we get comfortable and let other factors around us tell us what are relationship should be that sin takes place, and that's exactly what happens in the Garden of Eden. The serpent came along to entice Eve, and she took the bait. Here is when sin is created, and what is now known as the most difficult things we encounter in our lives, to sin or not to sin? But it shouldn't be that difficult if we trust in God. God has his plan for us, as he also gave us free will. I interpret this to mean his plan is when we cannot control the outcome but have faith in God's path he mapped for us. I believe free will to be a choice. When you are given a choice that is NOT God's plan. It is the choice we choose for ourselves that makes us sinners or follow in Jesus Christ's foot steps.
