Here is a reminder of the green ruffle top I snapped a couple weeks ago. I take pictures of items that I just don't know what to do with anymore and then when I feel inspired I remix it to make it feel new again. If I just think it's too old and worn out it goes into the donation pile.
I'm always inspired by boho style and when I can't figure out what to do I try to think boho! I wanted to create a flowy look to play with the ruffles at the top of the tank. Problem, I don't have a flowy skirt or one that went with solid green. And I'm just not digging the green and a black skirt together, makes me feel like I'm wearing sports colors.
But I did have this dress that my mother in law gave me! It was the flowy bottom I was looking for and the boho chic style I wanted. And it wasn't solid black.
Sold! I decided to put the tank on over the dress. I had to hide the dress straps by using bra clips but no worries there that's what bra strap clips are for.
The elastic bottom of the tank made it easy for me to fold under. Now the dress really looked like it was a skirt instead of a dress by creating the illusion of tucking the tank in.
There you have it! I saved my tank from the donation pile and I created the Boho chic look I was aiming for, and feeling like I have a whole new outfit without spending any money!
