What’s the True Meaning of Life?
That's the big question, right? Yes, I do agree with Aristotle and that the true meaning of life is love. Then what? So you find love, whether it is in your soulmate, spouse, kids, career, etc. OK, I found it now am I done?
And then I read more of the Bible...now I believe happiness is a part of life, but it's not what life is. In fact, God doesn't think life should be all happy, " easy come and easy go". He actually says that there will be trials in life and obstacles that he puts in our way to test our faith.
Did you know that your own life really isn't about YOU! It's not. It's about your true mission and what it means to live. The mission is to live a sin free life. And really in a nutshell, if you are creating sins than you are living a life for YOU. This place on earth is only temporary. God doesn’t measure success like we do. When we meet him, he will ask, “what have you done to glorify me?” And what will you say? I make a lot of money? I have a family and we live in a big house? I’m CEO of a huge company? I earned a doctorate? I have over 15,000 followers on social media? These are what society views as successful, not what God views. I’m not knocking any of these things either, in fact, God wants you to relish in His plan, and if these are what you have or you do you should be proud! But are you using these things to follow Christ? Are you lifting others? Helping where you can? Spreading the word of the Lord?
I’m not saying go out and sign up for every volunteer opportunity and spread your life thinner than it already is, but a simple smile to brighten a person’s day, an act of forgiveness, a hug, small steps to a more selfless life will lead you right to Him.
I still have questions and I'm still researching, but for the most part I'm finding the answers I need.
What I do know, is the less I think about myself the happier and more fulfilled I am.
